At SUNY Oneonta, you’ll be encouraged to participate in at least one internship to gain valuable experiences to prepare you for life after graduation. Through an internship, you’ll have the opportunity to explore your field of interest while gaining work experience that can set you apart when you are ready to apply for a job.
Internships are required for some of our undergraduate majors, and many academic departments provide faculty resources to help you find an internship in the Oneonta community, on campus, in cities across the country, or even abroad! For most majors, internships are recommended but not required.

Funding Opportunities
SUNY Oneonta is committed to making internship experiences available to all students. Through designated funding from New York State/SUNY and generous donations from alumni and friends of the university, grants are available to help you pay for internship-related expenses, including transportation, living expenses, technology and more!
