What You’ll Learn

Build upon your initial skills and knowledge and develop a commitment to excellence, empowerment, diversity and the best research-based teaching practices. Over the course of the program, you will gain a greater understanding of instructional design, hone your interpersonal and technology skills, and learn to create and manage highly engaging learning environments.

Who Should Apply

Our program is a great option for:

  • Teachers seeking to complete the New York State requirement to earn a master’s degree within five years in order to obtain professional certification. The program is completely online, so you can pursue your degree part time and apply the skills you learn in your own classroom.
  • Recent college grads with a bachelor’s degree in education who want to earn their master’s degree before applying for teaching jobs. You can pursue initial/professional certification in Educational Technology specifically with our convenient, online program.

Both programs meet New York State professional certification master’s degree requirements for teachers with initial certification in Early Childhood, Childhood, Middle Childhood Generalist, ESOL, Literacy, Students with Disabilities generalist (all ages/grade levels) and Students with Disabilities specialist (grades 5-12 only). If your initial teaching certification is in another area, you may still be able to pursue professional certification with just a few additional courses.
