Why Major in Communication Studies?
To study communication is to learn about the communicative processes that influence, shape and create our world. What does it mean to be a good communicator? How do we connect to others despite our differences? What does it mean to have a voice? Guided by expert faculty who are both scholars and practitioners in the field, you’ll practice the skills that excite 21st-century employers while learning to communicate and participate as global citizens.

Hands-On Learning
Communication Studies students apply for summer or semester-long internships in digital and print media, public relations, advertising, marketing, sales and promotions, nonprofit work, governmental work and human relations. You can also get plenty of hands-on experience – and meet friends -- through student clubs and organizations, including the Communication Arts Society, OnMark marketing club and Lamda Pi Eta honor society.
